El presente trabajo es una aproximación a dos obras de Juan Carlos Onetti -El pozo y Los adioses- en el que se analizan las particularidades de sus narradores, los cuales ejercen su función no a partir de circunstancias vividas o presenciadas -como cabría esperar, por ejemplo, del autor de unas memorias o de un testigo que interactúa con los personajes que observa-  sino desde las conjeturas, las fantasías, las impresiones personales y la posibilidad de crear y re-crear hechos y situaciones a través de la escritura.

 

Cuando la comunión y la empatía no parecen posibles, debido al hastío y el aislamiento propios de nuestra época, será la escritura el paliativo para la soledad, la herramienta que utilizarán estos narradores para albergar una esperanza de afirmación del propio ser y sus inquietudes.

This work is an approximation to two novels of Juan Carlos Onetti -El pozo and Los adioses-. Here we analyze the particularities of their narrators, who perform their functions not by using experienced or witnessed circumstances -as we could expect, for example, from the author of a book of memories or from a witness that interacts with the characters he observes- but from conjectures, fantasies, personal impressions and the possibility of creating and re-creating facts and situations through writing.

When communion and empathy seem to be impossible, because of the weariness and isolation that characterize of our times, the writing will be the relief to loneliness, the tool that will be used by these narrators to cherish a hope of affirmation of the own being and its restlessness.
