El presente trabajo tiene el objetivo de establecer los aspectos relevantes a considerar en la calidad de vida del pueblo mapuche. Luego de verificar la casi total ausencia de artículos científicos que tratan sobre esta temática, se conforma el propósito fundamental por alcanzar: definir y relacionar el concepto de calidad de vida del pueblo mapuche, a través de la estructura social y políticas públicas, para luego realizar una breve contextualización sociopolítica y continuar con la discusión sobre los indicadores objetivos que buscan alcanzar y definir la calidad de vida en este pueblo. Finalmente, esto deriva a señalar la relevancia de los indicadores subjetivos al momento de analizar los aspectos a considerar como necesarios para definir y comprender la calidad de vida mapuche, concluyendo; que los componentes objetivos no bastan para determinar la calidad de vida, no obstante, si bien se integran los aspectos subjetivos -bienestar psicológico- mediante instrumentos estandarizados, será imperativo una operacionalización del constructo calidad de vida mapuche que integre componentes propios de su cultura e identidad como lo son; la lengua, tierra, cosmovisión y espiritualidad.

The present paper tries to establish the relevant aspects to consider in the quality of life of the Mapuche people. After verifying the almost total absence of scientific papers dealing with this issue, conforms to achieve the fundamental purpose: to identify and relate the concept of quality of life of the Mapuche people, through the social and public policy, and then make a brief socio-political contextualization and continue the discussion on indicators that pursue goals and define the quality of life of these people. Finally, this results point out the relevance of subjective indicators when analyzing the aspects to consider as necessary to define and understand the quality life of Mapuche people, concluding, that the objective components can`t determine the quality of life, however, while integrating the subjective-psychological well-being using standardized instruments will be imperative to design an instrument that could measure quality of life that integrates components Mapuche of their culture and identity as they are, native language, world view and spirituality.
